Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of beer can I brew?  Well that is up to you, we can pretty much help you brew any kind of beer you like.  We suggest you brew a beer that you like, for example if you like Newcastle, then we can help you make an American Brown or if Red Tail is what you like, then we can help you out an American Red Ale. If domestic beer is your choice, we can get you close, but we leave that style up to the big boys….we can help you with a craft brew either extract or whole grain, it is your choice.

How long does it take? It will take you about 3 hours to brew an extract beer and a little over 4 to brew a whole grain craft beer.

What do I (the customer) do? Well in short, you brew your beer.  There is a variety of activities, nothing too strenuous, but you will need to do some precise measuring, weighing and reading in the first part. Once that is done that there is a lot of stirring and watching as your craft beer takes shape, well actually it is wort at this point, but we can cover that during your brew session.

What does Blind Ferrets do? Our Brewers assist you in every aspect of the brewing process to make sure that your brewing experience is unique, informative and enjoyable.

What do I need to provide? You will need to provide the water, people and fun.  In addition, since this is your party and you will be engaged in the brew process for anywhere from 3 to 4 hours, we suggest that you have food and such for your party.

When will my beer be ready? Depending on the type of beer, your beer will be ready in about 3-6 weeks.

How long will my beer last? That depends on how you store it, but we suggest you consume your beer within three (3) months of making it.  If it goes bad before then, we will hold another brew session for you.

Do you sell beer? No, absolutely not! Or better yet, not yet, but at this point Blind Ferrets Brewery, LLC specializes in the “Brewed By U” program, which is just that, brewed by you.

Why Blind Ferrets Brewery, LLC, “Brewed By U” program? This unique program will allow you and your group the opportunity to brew your own craft brew at your home. The neat part is you made it and somehow it just tastes a little bit better than the stuff you can buy in the store.
